HPEF is proud to announce “Infinitus 2010,” a Harry Potter conference to take place July 15-18 2010 in Orlando, Florida – home to the all-new “World of Harry Potter” attraction at Universal Orlando Resort. Hotel, Registration rates, and additional event information are forthcoming. As always, registrants can expect our high commitment to strong and diverse formal and informal programming on topics from Alchemy to Zoology and every subject in between. The conference agenda will also include at least one event at the “World of Harry Potter” theme park, allowing our attendees to explore and immerse themselves in the Wizarding World as never before.

Scholars and fans eagerly await the July 21 release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and the conclusion of the series that has captivated imaginations the world over. In the aftermath, unanswered questions—some a decade old—will remain, and Portus prepares to open its doors to the next stage of theory and speculation. Like the Unspeakables who staff the Department of Mysteries, Portus will begin to unravel the entirety of the Harry Potter phenomenon, seeking to solve the mysteries that remain and delve into the new questions raised as the curtain falls on the seventh installment.

Please mark your calendars to meet up in person again July 18-21, 2009. Azkatraz will explore the themes of justice and the choice between what is right and what is easy. This programming focus brings the backdrop of Alcatraz / Azkaban to the forefront of the real issues of social justice, gender equality, tolerance, and due process, as they are reflected in the Harry Potter books and the larger contexts of fandom and the world around us.
