Hey everyone!

Things are still in the rudementary planning phase right now, but at the moment I'm planning on renting a car with my sister and driving down to Orlando. In order to cut down on the rental cost I want to drop it off in Orlando, since transportation isn't to bad at the park and I probably wont be leaving the property. Then we'd fly home afterwards. The only problem is that we'd be starting in Toronto (prefereably just outside Toronto where I live). I know many places will allow "one-way" rentals and many will allows cross-border renting, but I can't seem to figure out if any would allow both. Any one know?

We're hoping to visit relatives along the way. In order to further cut down on costs Im considering car pooling part way. So if anyone along our route is interested let me know.

If you stop in Wisconsin, let me know! I would love to carpool. I'm female and I'm turning 17 during Infinitus, in case you want to know.

I think it's a little out of the way, but I'll keep it in mind :). As I said, early stages right now.

BTW, I don't think I mentioned, but my sister will be 18 and I'll be 21.

Haven't ever dropped off a rental across a border. How much is it to take a bus or train to, say, Buffalo and pick one up there?

As a heads up for your travel planning, please keep in mind that you will be required to present a passport at the Port of Entry where you cross into the US. This applies to all land border ports of entry in addition to airports as of June 1.

Yup. Thanks for the heads up. We've both got passports as we cross fairly often. As for the rental info, thanks :). I was just starting to look for an alternative, but hadn't thought of that. Great Idea.

A heads-up, too, I don't know if the same thing is in Canada as in the States, but here you generally have to be 25 to rent a car.

Yeah it's pretty much the same in Canada, but there are a few well-known places (in both countries) that have an 'underage' fee for anyone 21 - 25. I suppose this is to cover the risk of having younger, less experienced drivers using the cars.
