Hi Jamesa! Glad to meet you. I take it you are a prison guard, that must be an exciting job (or at least an interesting one).

Hi Jamesa! I love that you're a Slytherin, and I love that you're from Texas. I grew up in Houston (Well, actually Kingwood- you might know it, it's very near Splendora). I also love your avatar!

I know exactly where Kingwood is! For 6 years I was the assistant manager, then manager of the Exxon at Northpark and Woodland Hills. My nephew and niece graduated from Kingwood HS in 1998 and 2001 and I dated a complete jerk from Kingwood in 1994! Small world huh!

I have to say being a guard where I work, thankfully 90% of the time it's boring. But you have to be on your toes because you never know when that other 10% is gonna jump off and someone goes home on a gurney. **CONSTANT VILIGENCE** I have seen some things that would straighten even Hermione's hair! But the pay is decent and in a faltering economy, job security is nice!

As for the favorite quote..I have a million of them! It's SOOO hard to pick just 1. I was in a giddy mood the day I wrote that intro, so that quote won out. If I were in a different mood, it'd probably be "Give her hell from us, Peeves" or "You dare use my own spells against me, Potter?" or everyone's favorite "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"

It is nice to *meet* y'all too. I hope to see all of y'all at Infinitus!

In October 2005, at a most inopportune time, I quit my job because my company refused to give me 8 weeks off to care for my mom after an emergency operation. (Which I later found out was illegal. Under the federal FMLA act, the were required to give me the time off. Wish I would have known that before I quit!) Anyway long story short, that was 1 month after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and 1 week after Hurricane Rita hit Southeast Texas. After my mom got better, I began looking for a job and it turned into a nightmare. Hiring preference was being give to all Hurricane evacuees living in the Houston area. I came from 12 years of retail management experience and I couldn't get a job because of the influx of evacuees from Louisana that flooded the job market. You couldn't get a job no matter how much experience you had. I saw a posting one day that said "Do you want to be a correctional officer?" I said "not really!" but if came with a decent paycheck I'd give it a shot. So I took the test, did an interview and went through 6 weeks of training camp. 3 years later, it was the best decision I ever made.

Wow that's insane. I guess that's what you call fate or one lucky random happenstance!
