Sorry for creating a new thread on an old topic... My question still hasn't been answered.

I'd like to hear from an official Infinitus organizer.

The FAQ page states: "We've secured our rates (see above) for up to four people in a room"

When I called the Royal Pacific to book a room for 4 people I was told that the $210 rate is for up to 2 people. Any more than 2 people incur an extra cost of $20 per person per night.

I know that some people have just told the hotel that there are 2 people and intend to have more stay in the room (thus getting the $210 rate). Other people have said that there are 4 people in the room, but still got the $210 rate. I have spoken to at least 5 different people in the Group Reservations office - all of whom have told me that $210 is only for 2 people.

Can someone please tell me what the official word is from Infinitus regarding the special group rate?

Thanks!

HPEF is thrilled to announce that Universal Studios Orlando's Royal Pacific and Portofino Bay hotels have agreed to honor the $210 per room price for up to four people in a room at Infinitus 2010; the $245 price at the Hard Rock Hotel is also valid for up to four people in a room.

To make the deal even sweeter, that price is good from July 11 through July 21 for anyone attending any Infinitus 2010 event, as well as their friends and family. Just call Reservations at 866-360-7395, mention that you're coming for Infinitus, and enjoy the rate. If you've already made a reservation, we recommend calling back whenever you have a chance, to make sure you're going to be charged the $210 rate.

This price only applies to those staying in standard rooms at the Royal Pacific or Portofino Bay; rooms at the Hard Rock Hotel are a little more expensive, but the per-room cost there is also for up to four people in a room. And don't forget that there's a 25% discount on suites at all three hotels, and some suites can hold up to five people.

If you stay at the Royal Pacific, the Portofino Bay or the Hard Rock Hotel, you'll be able to enjoy exclusive benefits that Universal provides only to on-site guests. Each room key-card is also your Express Pass; you’ll skip the regular lines at most rides and attractions. It’s the fastest way to ride – enjoy unparalleled access all day long, as often as you’d like, just by showing your hotel room key card at each express entrance. We expect that the Express Pass will work at the three rides in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Even if you just stay one night at one of the Universal hotels, you'll enjoy your Express Pass on both of the days, as it works from the moment you you check in until the parks close on the day you check out.

Infinitus attendees who stay at one of the on-site hotels can also take the complimentary shuttle to nearby SeaWorld Orlando or Wet n' Wild waterpark and charge purchases made in the Parks and at CityWalk to their rooms; priority seating is also available for hotel guests at certainUniversal Orlando restaurants.

And don't forget, if you stay at any of the Universal Orlando hotels, you'll help Infinitus meet our room block, and our commitment to the hotel.

We are still working to provide a way for you to make your reservation online, so check back at Infinitus2010.org, our Facebook page at tinyurl.com/InfinitusFB, or our LiveJournal at infinitus2010.livejournal.com, or follow our Twitter at twitter.com/HPEF, for more announcements.

This was posted on the forums (and other places) on 10-08-09 by one of the organizers.

I just called the hotel, again, and heard the SAME answer - the rate of $210 is only for 2 people.

He said to call back earlier (I'm on west coast time) and speak to a manager - I'll try that tomorrow.

In the mean time - it sounds like someone from Infinitus still needs to get in touch with the hotel.

We've spoken with the hotel - at the very least, it will be all sorted out during the event. The hotel has confirmed to us multiple times that they will honor the rate of $210 at the Portofino and the Royal Pacific for up to four people in a room.

Thanks so much for the response! This saves me another call to the hotel.
