Hi!
I just got back from Prophecy, and I found out that Level Two will be in San Jose, which is very close to where I live! How can I find out about volunteering for Level Two and what positions are available?

Level Two is most definitely looking for volunteers! I've alerted the Level Two Chair and he should be able to respond to you all shortly.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in getting on the forum, I got lost on the Information Highway and took a wrong turn, but I promise that wouldn't happen again. :D

The core committee is still being formed and yes, there’s a lot of work to be done with Level Two.

Here are the Divisions that you can volunteer for at this time:

Formal Programming: Activities that take place during normal hours of the conference. If you are good at gathering panel ideas together, finding guest speakers, reviewing proposals for panels, scheduling panelist to panels, ensuring that the room is the right size to the panel and a lot more. This is where you are needed.

Informal Programming: If you are good at planning and running fun activities that happen after hours, like dances, book readings, movies, afternoon teas and more than you are needed here.

Special Guest Liaison: Exactly what it implies, very special guests and only a select few people will be offered an opportunity to assist the head of SGL.

Volunteer Coordinator: The heart and soul of the conference, without these people, you can’t get anything done.

Department of Muggle Magic (Technical Operations - A/V, Computers, etc):  If you are smart and know how to handle technology, we need you.

Registration: You can’t go anywhere without badge and you can’t get a badge unless you are there to help us.

Flourish and Blotts (Publications): If you are good with creating graphics, layouts and can work with timelines, this is your area.

Gringotts Bank (Accounting): Good with numbers and handling responsibilities, our goblins need you.

Department of Muggle Speak (Public Relations):  Getting the word out to the muggles of the world that this conference is taking place. Strong writing and grammar skills are a must.

Auroa Enforcement (Safety – Security):  To help non-magical folks outs with directions, ensuring that rooms aren’t overcrowded and to get hallways clear and much more.

====================

For the time being, To volunteer, send a email to Level2Chair@gmail.com and I'll forward them.

Looking forward to working with all of you and thanks for volunteering.

So happy we're off to San Jose! I speak each year at Baycon, the annual Memorial Day San Jose sf and f con. I'll definitely hand out flyers and publicize the event. Others might want to join me running a table there--I know lots of locals would love to come. We could even advertise this year. Coordinating with Baycon might also help, since they know all the local sf resources.

My 8 yr ol grandson JJ & I are big fans. I met Harry/Daniel @ the Premeir for (The Sorcerers Stone in London) I think the greatest thrill in his young life is to appear with Harry in full Wizard-like dress to place on his game webpage listed @ www.jimmysxbox.com (money is no option) because the theme glorifies the Gnostic concepts of which I already spent a fortune to publisize on PBS/SecretsOfTheDead. regarding; The Spanish Inquasition;) . Iv also mentioned this in my NBC profile under; SaintlySorcerer...aka; lonniecraig

We have undergone a "facelift" and Level Two is now Azkatraz. The new dates are July 18-21 (just a weekend prior to the original dates) and we've moved across the bay to San Francisco.

We are still looking for a lot of help, so please check out our volunteers' yahoogroup and our informational LiveJournal:

You can join the yahoogroup: azkatraz_volunteers@yahoogroups.com or the Live Journal (community.livejournal.com/kickin_azkatraz) and introduce yourself. Our Volunteer coordinators will be distributing a questionnaire soon to get you Sorted into departments.

One thing we do need right away are street teams. As HP-related events come up, such as the movie release, or even a wizard rock concert in your area, we will need people to work the lines and crowds and spread the word about Azkatraz.
