Hey everyone even though I am coming to Infinitus I'm wondering if anyone knows when the next west coast convention will be because I really want to go with my friend to one but she can't travel across the country...so if anyone has any information please post! Or please just say hi I love to meet new people!

Are meaning Harry Potter conferences or just fantasy & sci-fi conventions in general? HPEF just hosted a con, Azkatraz, in San Francisco earlier this year so I don't think they will be having another one in California for a little while. They also hosted Lumos in Las Vegas in 2006. HPEF likes to host their cons in different areas of the US (and once in Canada) so I don't know how soon they would be hosting another event on the West Coast. The only other HP con besides Infinitus that I know about is LeakyCon 2011, but it also going to be in Orlando at Universal. "As currently planned, Infinitus will be HPEF's last annual event. HPEF's Board of Directors is weighing options for future symposiums" (quoted from a post made by the President of HPEF) so we don't really know what is going to be happening past Infinitus.

If you are talking about regular fantasy & sci-fi cons, I know there are a couple happening on the West Coast that my California friends are planning on attending because the conventions are including HP-related events, but I don't remember the names conventions. I live in the South so I was not really paying attention to their conversation. Sorry! There are a lot of HP fans from California and they will be much more helpful in this area than I am.

Yeah I'm in San Jose. Worldcon is amazing, and labor day 2011 it'll be in Reno. It's the everything, worldwide, sf and f con. Also World Fantasy Con 2011 will be in San Diego. I'm also a huge fan of Baycon, memorial day weekend in san jose each year . If you go, look me up--I'll be speaking there.
