I've never posted here before so I'm a complete newbie! Please bear with me.

*Name: Shannon
*Also known as: Shan (only my family and very close friends ever call me that though)
*Age/Gender: 29, female
*Birthplace/Livingplace: Born in Winnipeg, now live in Calgary
*Family Life: Single but my immediate family also live in Calgary (although my mom is getting ready to move soon)
*Personality: Friendly, quiet amongst people I don't know, sometimes outgoing
*Words (or small phrases) friends have used to describe you: honest, loyal, family-oriented, intelligent
*Words (or small phrases) you have used to describe you: friendly, family-oriented
*Anything else you'd like to reveal?: I'm not very good at describing myself :)
*Education/Work: (note - do NOT disclose name of school or job) Work as a Safety Coordinator for an environmental consulting company
*Favourite HP book: Goblet of Fire and now I can add Deathly Hallows
*Favourite HP character(s) - Canon and Fanon: My favourite character in the books is Neville (and of course Harry) and Dumbledore in the first two movies (Richard Harris). I don't read the fanfiction.
*Favourite HP line: Many favourites so here are a few:
"Proud?" said Harry. "Are you crazy? All those times I could've died, and I didn't manage it? They'll be furious..."
"Pity you can't attach an extra arm to yours, Malfoy," said Harry. "Then it could catch the Snitch for you."
*Watching/Avoiding the HP movies? I have watched all of them so far but I have discovered that the trick to truly enjoying them is NOT to reread the book before watching the movie. Then you can watch it as purely a movie that is not necessarily connected to a book. If you start making comparisons between the books and the movies, you will be disappointed. I really disliked GOF the first time I saw it and had to go back a second time to really enjoy it.
*How about HP merchandise? None so far but I'd really like to get a Gryffindor scarf.
*Current reading: Nights of Rain and Stars (Maeve Binchy)
*Favourite music: Country, Oldies, Rock
*Favourite TV: Prison Break, CSI (all of them), ER
*Favourite cinema: Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gone With The Wind, Pride and Prejudice (BBC miniseries)
*Favourite fandom websites: Mugglenet, The Leaky Cauldron
*Favorite non fandom website: Facebook
*Philosophy for an easy life? I think a harder life is more worthwhile because you learn so much more.

To tell the truth, I've hardly watched any football this year. I usually go to one Stamps game but haven't made it there either. I will be watching the Grey Cup though, as always, but I hope to watch a few more games before then. Go Bombers!

I love all of the books really so it's hard to pick just a couple of favourites. I definitely had to think a lot more in DH though, trying to remember how everything connects. Loved it though and felt a real sense of peace once I finished.
