Battle of the Podcasts

So a huge part of fandom is podcasting! Therefore, there's usually at least one live podcast per convention.

There are tons of podcasts, though. At least 100, right? Probably more.

My question is- Which podcast would you most like to see?

I have no power over this, I just kind of wanted to know if other people thought that other podcasts besides the LeakyMug should have a live one.

Not that I don't love LeakyMug! I'm an avid listener of both PotterCast and MuggleCast, I went to 2 live PotterCasts this summer, and I'm a Picklepack member! Sorry, not bragging, I just want to make it clear that I'm not a LeakyMug hater. =]

My top pick would be AlleyCast. It'd have to be an adults-only podcast, though, because what's the fun if they can't curse or talk about getting drunk!

So what about you guys? What would you most like to see?

While I'd like to, I don't listen to anything other than the big two; I just don't have time. So I'd definitely like them to have a podcast, but I understand people's wish for another.

It's clear a Leakymug would attract more people, and if they only had one podcast, it makes sense for that to be the one.

I understand the LeakyMug thing, and I love it, it's a great idea and they're always hilarious. I just want to see some of my other favorites,too. =]


but siriusly, the podcasts are NOT GOING AWAY.

the day PotterCast ends will be the saddest day ever because they're probably the ones who'll go on the longest.

Full blown "post-Potter depression" won't happen until after the DH movie hype is over. Then we can all roll around in misery, lol.

I am scared for that truly. Prophecy was my first convention, and I was so exicted waiting for it, I never had the post book depression. Then the day I left Canada, it hit me, and I ate WAY to much chocolate to compensate for it.

I can't even begin to imagine, me after Deathly Hallows(the movie)...

I did the EXACT SAME THING.

I probably gained 5 or 10 pounds just the week after Prophecy, trying to get over the rush of fandom and then nothing.

After Infinitus, I don't think I'll be able to even walk. It's the year of my high school graduation, the Deathly Hallows movie, Infinitus (which I'm driving down to with a bunch of my friends), and the theme park.

Ohh, I'm so scared for then. Right now I'm like, well we've still got a ton to look forward to, and that's what keeps me from being depressed, but after 2010, what will happen? I guess I'll look forward to college, but......


Can't think about it! I'll deal with it when it comes. I'm just enjoying the major fandom love right now. For every person who says "I quit, I'm leaving, I don't want to be a part of this" there are 20 who say "NO WAY am I going! HP forever!"

I'm pretty sure the podcasts will last until sometime after the DH movie. Not sure how long. And now that the books are through, there may not be as many, but they'll still be there.

Now THAT is a plan! I like it! loads and loads. I'd be up for that, assuming I'm still into the whole Potter thing and all.

oh yeah, and not add to the sadness but I will. . . . By the year '010 we might have Jo's history of hogwarts book out, or a release date and all. I'm not much looking forward to that year, except for all the fun to be had.

As for the Podcasts thing . . . I don't regularly listen to them. so I'm just fine with Leaky Mug.

Living in LA is great for a Potter Fan...because so much comes to So Cal...With that said, I have been to Pottercasts and Leaky Mugs and Mugglenet..and I saw Ben and Emerson on the book tour...

So for me...whatever we have...will be great...love Leaky Mug at Lumos and Prophecy...

Podcasts are just AWESOME!!! the energy of the group makes the live ones really special...;)

This summer, I went to Emerson's and Ben's book signing, Sonorous, The Remus Lupins Homecoming, the Book release at the Grove with the Remus Lupins, the Leakymug podcast after the book release, a Leaky Podcast as part of the summer tour, Prophecy...and The Whimsic Alley Wizard Rockband Estravaganza, and the Harry Potter day at Disneyland...a wonderful Potter summer...

Sure :) I actually have a few other friends down there. One of whom (Molly) you will probably know from HP Disneyland day if nothing else.

I'm actually in *northern* Cali in November, flying across to see Kelsi, my best friend and future wife... whom I've never met.

i think there ended up being a number of wrock fetivals in LA this summer...

and disneyland was fun. most people just ended up going around the park as they pleased. there were around 60 ppl there. various groups are plannig ot go back.

Ask ForeCast! I know all of the hosts will be at Portus anyway and would most likely be interested in doing an event. It would be interesting to have the usual Potter podcasts, plus one exclusively about the HP fandom itself (like ForeCast). :)

*raises hand* Me too. Except I was also bouncing around the house, squeeing, and calling all my friends (who didn't really care, becuse they're not HP fans) *gasp* They were all "Mugglecast??? What's that? Oh! Is that one of the those..um...podcast thingys that you listen to?" *sigh* Oh well. Atleast I'm not alone. :)
