View Full Version : What's in a name?

Snapes on a Plane

I am organizing a Harry Potter themed cruise to set sail next October (2008). I want to name it something related to Harry Potter, and I was thinking something like Aguamenti or Durm & Strang. Something to do with Harry Potter and water.
Legally, I know I can use Durm & Strang because those are just German words. What about Aguamenti? Would that raise too many WB eyebrows or is it broad enough to use without legal issues?
Or would "HP on the Sea" do the trick?

I've moved this post to the OT forum. Hopefully, you can get some input there.

How about HMS, something or a reffrence to an actual Hp ship? How about squid tours, of battle of the giant squid, what has the squid been up to? Something to do wtih merpeople. The second task?

Sorry I am having too much fun with this.

I don't think the Aguamenti would be a problem with WB because you could always point out Lumos and Portus (both of which are HP spells)(although they might also be Latin if I am not mistaking). But, if you are worried about WB you could call it something like “The Great Grindylow Experience” (Grindylow's are mythical water demons outside of Harry Potter). Or maybe call the ship simply "The Giant Squid"
