yay! I'm so happy to see the Moaning Myrtles again, they were missed at Prophecy =[

And I've never seen Catchlove (although I did meet Jace) or Owl Post or The Mudbloods! So yay!

I'm so happy catchlove will be there, I really like Jace's music. It's so technoish and fun to dance to.

What Caitlin said :p The Moaning Myrtles are a great choice, but please get Alex there. Pretty please?

I was a teenage werewolf! Doing the best that I caaaannnn!

*sigh*

Harry and the Potters are a big one I'd miss too.

And Oliver Boyd is so professional, I know he'd put on a great set; he certainly deserves a chance if you're going for lesser known groups.

By the way, here's another reason you need to have The Remus Lupins at Portus, *especially* if you've got The Moaning Myrtles there:

Can anyone say, wow? I have a new favourite video.

Yeah, I know, shh. I just had to share that.

If you guys are going for lesser known WR bands, I'm definitely tossing in a vote for Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls and The Weasel King. I wouldn't say no to Ministry of Magic either.

I'm really excited about the Moaning Myrtles. If you do get any more well known bands, I'm just another person who'd love Harry and the Potters, The Whomping Willows, and The Remus Lupins. I've never gotten to see any WR bands before, and I'd be super sad if I never got to. Still, you can only have so many, I'm sure!

I LOVE LA!!!

because so many of the WRB come here...have seen Herminone and the Crookshanks Experience, the Parcelmouths, The Whomping Willows, and The Remus Lupins...and having been to both Lumos and Prophecy, saw quite a few again...

I think that they are all great and all have something different to offer...I am sure the experience will be AWESOME...no matter who we end up with...;)

I am sooo excited about this. I saw the Mudbloods perform at the Texas MF Quidditch World Cup a few weeks ago and they were INCREDIBLE!! So now I'm super excited to share a show with them.

Yay Wizard Rock! I would love if you guys added some more bands but I know that some of them are probably going to come even if they aren't invited to play at the conference.

I actually haven't even listened to the Mudbloods. I really should.

Do you happen to know if Alex will be going anyway?

For me, the wizard rock bands in attendance will decide it.
Meaning, whichever con Whompy and Alex go to is the one I'm going to.

I don't know anyone specifically who's definitely going other than the bands who are scheduled to play. It's really far off as well. There's still more than enough time for planning or deciding. But I know a lot of the other ones try to go to as many of these conferences as possible because they're awesome. So who knows?

David

Yeah, true.

Well I guess we'll see. They certainly are awesome. I'm considering going to both Portus and Terminus myself, but I'm still not sure I want to spend that much, considering where I live.

I'd like to see the Hermione Crookshanks Experience or The Parselmouths (because I, alas, live on the opposite side of the country from them), but The Remus Lupins are always good.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like a great list. I'm especially excited about the Moaning Myrtles, Oliver Boyd, and the Mudbloods (they're Christmas song on Jingle Spells was the best!). My only other favorite that isn't on that list is The Weasel King.

Ahhh awesome!

I'm hoping for Gred and Forge, Draco and the Malfoys, and/or Whomping Willows. But the listing so far is exciting enough already. :D

One question though...what exactly are the Common Room Unplugged sessions? Is it just when various bands perform pieces in the common room? Do they perform primarily during the day, or at night as well? Sorry if this has already been answered...I'm still very new to everything con-related! (And the site isn't up, else I'd just look this up there.)

The Common Room Unplugged sessions are informal concerts held in the Common Room - no amplifiers, a more laid-back environment to enjoy your favorite Wizard Rock bands.

The Unplugged sessions will be VERY fun, and will offer a good dose of Wizard Rock. As more bands are scheduled, we will be announcing them here! So stay tuned!

Any chance of adding one more act to the Wrock docket? We'd love to play a few numbers. We do some original stuff, covers, filk and more. If not, no biggie. Looks like it's going to be a pretty full show as it is. We'll sing in the hallways and hotel rooms. Maybe invade the hotel bar...:)

Do we have any confirmations yet as to the timing of the Common Room sessions? I'm trying to plan some non-Portus activities with friends from online HP communities, and I want to make sure we don't schedule anything over sessions that 1 or more of us will want to go to (like I absolutely want to see The Remus Lupins and Oliver Boyd!).

Any info on that would be awesome. :)

The schedule has yet to be finalized with the details, but I can say that there will be sessions Thursday before the feast, Friday evening, and Sunday morning-ish. Other than that you just have to stay tuned ;)

Thanks-

At the website for the wizrocklepedia they had a wizard rock itinerary for Portus here
http://www.wizrocklopedia.com/index.php/wizard-rock-itinerary-for-portus

What's helpful is that they list the times that bands are performing in the common room unplugged sessions. Every little bit of information that we find out about just gets more and more exciting!

Please note a couple time changes!!
