Yes, I'll be going and I'm from Calgary. I'm very excited since I've never been to a HP conference before - I think it will be great! I may have even convinced friends of mine to attend but it would be good to meet other people too. You can see my info on the Sorting Hat thread.

I'm from Red Lake, ON, a small community just east of Winnipeg. My brother and I are definitely going. And we might have 1 or 2 more people coming with us.
We went to Prophecy last month and had an amazing time. I've already begun counting down the weeks til Dallas.

I grew up in Portage la Prairie actually and have lots of family in Winnipeg but I haven't heard of Red Lake. Is it just over the border, somewhere near Kenora maybe?

I'm counting down the days too - hope to see you there!

It's about 2 1/2 hours from northeast of Kenora. If we had a road that went directly to Winnipeg, it would take 2 1/2 - 3 hours to get there. But I lived in Thompson for awhile, so am familiar with Manitoba.

Whereabouts if you don't mind me asking? My Dad grew up and we went back a couple years ago. I still have quite a few realatives there. I've only been to st.John's and Gander. It was so beautiful.

I visited a friend of mine in St. John's for a week 2 years ago now. It is such a beautiful city and I loved it! Whereabouts are you from? I know a few Newfoundlanders actually and am always interested in meeting more.

I'm from St. John's!! I'm trying to convince my muggle mum to get me over there, but it's really expensive for traveling, so I don't know.. but I really want to go because I missed Prophecy, Phoenix Rising, Accio, and all the other ones! I missed Prophecy because mum was away on some work trip and wouldn't let me go, and a lot of the others were in really bad locations and times for me..

I really want to go though.

I'm also from St. John's, Newfoundland, same as bravosix. We both went to Prophecy last year and had a great time.

It was interesting to look at the map they had set up. There were seven pins from St. John's and we all went together.

Hey everyone,
I am from Edmonton and will be at Portus. I am helping out with the planning, so I will be there a bit earlier to facilitate that!
Portus is going to be a great event...try and get as many of your friends and family to come as well. We need Canada to be well represented.
If any of you are interested in volunteering while at the event, go to the Portus website and follow the volunteer link.

My daughter and I are going to Portus. We live in Southwestern Ontario, in Oakville and Burlington (west of Toronto). It would be fun to meet up with the other Canadians at Portus. Are you travelling direct? We're driving to Detroit and catching our plane from there. We used to live in Edmonton and have visited many times since leaving in 1993. We loved Alberta! Still wanting to get to Newfoundland, though.
