Hi everyone!

I'm originally from Dallas and love, love, love my hometown! Instead of staying with friends, I've decided to stay in the hotel, because it makes everything so much easier. I will probably rent a car, however, so would be willing to show people around town.

Cheers!

Well, if you're into that kind of thing, we have the best Six Flags I've ever been to, and I've been to many!

If not, I'd suggest a visit to the Angelika Theatre, the Arboretum (one of the best around), Deep Ellum (but only during the day unless you're braver than me), the Holocaust Museum, West End Marketplace, the American Airlines Center, The Galleria, Reunion Tower, the Omnitheatre, and OF COURSE, The Sixth Floor Museum is a must! There are probably loads of things that I'm forgetting, but that'll definitely get you started!

Cheers!

I'm still looking for people to stay with as well! My name is Becky, and I'll be 20 at the time of Portus. I don't drink or smoke and would prefer to room with others who don't either.

Let me know how things go :-)

Hi, I'm Shivani and I'm looking for a roomie too. I'll be 19 when Portus comes around (three months shy of 20). I'm open and flexible. I don't drink/smoke, and would prefer someone who doesn't do either.
My AIM is sheeveez. My email is shivani.gupta88@gmail.com. Feel free to contact me; I'd love to get to know more people who'll be at Portus, since I'll be traveling solo (most likely).

Incidentally, I'm from Plano, TX. :) I second the recommendation to go to Six Flags Over Texas! I've been there several times, and it's one of the best (and the very first, I believe).

I worked for the Anatole years ago. Here is what to expect. This hotel is a 4 star hotel. It is big but absolutely beautiful. President Bush did a talk there during the campaign. They are used to dignitaries and such.

They have a full size theatre and the rooms are exquisite. The restaurants are plenty and WOW! It will be a wonderful place for the conference, but because of the size, it may not be as "cozy" as a smaller hotel. I know that the conference staff will do a great job in making the experience a good one.

If you have more questions that I might can answer, feel free to e-mail and I will be happy to help.
