Question about Luncheon and Tea Package

I have already registered for both luncheons and the Friday afternoon tea, but I see in the new Portal newsletter that there is now a package for this. So will there be a refund for those who registered early? Otherwise, it seems like those of us who planned in advance will be penalized for doing so. Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

No, unfortunately the refund is not automatic if you bought the items separately. The a la carte events are refundable if you change your mind, or if
you find yourself suddenly unable to attend Portus (minus a 10% processing fee). In exchange for the slightly lower package price, folks who select the package will not have the option to cancel their ticket no matter the reason.

You can request a refund (minus the 10% processing fee) for the separate items if you wish by sending an email to registration@portus2008.org, and then go and purchase the package. After the fees, you'll end up saving $1.30 out of pocket.

Thanks Bekki. I had already determined that it wouldn't save anything to cancel and re-register using the package so no matter. Thanks for the clarification though.

Hi there,

I've registered for Portus, and I will coming all the way from Sydney.

There is very little information on your website as to exactly what the afternoon teas are.

Could someone give me some information, as I have friends who are equally in the dark about whether or not they are like 'high teas', or something more specific?

The afternoon tea menus are as follows:

Tea Sandwiches
Scones with Clotted Cream, Marmalade and Preserves
Whole Fresh Strawberries
French Pastries and Macaroons
Selection of Premium Teas and Coffee


Most importantly, it's a chance to sit down, take a break from the rush of the symposium, and enjoy the company of your fellow HP fans while enjoying a bite to eat.
