I want to decorate the room I'm presenting in. You know, make it look like Madame Puddifoot's?

How would I go about doing that? What can I actually do?

Hi there,

It'll ultimately depend upon the scheduling of your programming session and the restrictions on decorating laid down by the hotel. I'll have Amy, our Chair of Decorations, get in touch with you to give you more information.

Cheers,
Bekki

You rock! Thanks.

Let me know what I can do!

I just wanted to add a few things to make it look like a tea shop. Nothing big. Doilies and hearts and cupids...things like that.

Well hello there!

As I am in charge of all things decorations, I can clue you in to a few things. As a whole, the Portus staff are not decorating the presentation rooms. So your room will come to you "clean" of anything decoration wise. You may of course decorate the room if you choose to do so. Your decorations MUST be free-standing - nothing can "attach" anywhere to the room itself. Meaning, no tape to make things stick to the walls, etc.

You also have the constraints of decorating the room so you don't bother the session before or the session after yours (so it must be a quick setup and a quick take away).

But if the stuff you are planning will not hurt the room, or bother other sessions in the put up and take down, I say decorate away! Tabletop stuff is okay in every way.

Funny you should mention doilies and cupids and hearts. Your room will likely look very much like the two teas we are planning for an afternoon break! Madam Puddifoot would be so pleased!

Let me know if you have any further questions!
