I. Basics
Question: What is SnapeFest?
Answer : Brought to you by Snapecast (http://snapecast.com), SnapeFest is the only Harry Potter conference that is "all Snape all the time." SnapeFest is a single day meeting that Snape fans are devoting to celebrate and honor Professor Snape.
Question: When is SnapeFest?
Answer: SnapeFest will be held on July 9, 2008. Formal Programming will begin at 9 AM and end at 5 PM. Informal Programming will commence at 5:01 PM and will end at midnight (or until we all get detention).
Question: Where is SnapeFest?
Answer: SnapeFest will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel (http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/DFWANHH-Hilton-Anatole-Texas/index.do)in Dallas, Texas. Details of the exact location within the hotel are currently being held by the official SnapeFest Secret Keeper and will be released with each SnapeFest registration.
Question: Who can attend SnapeFest?
Answer: SnapeFest welcomes all witches, wizards, and Muggles who are lovers and admirers of Professor Snape; however we do have a limited number of spaces. SnapeFest is open only to Portus (http://hp2008.org/) registrants who have a Portus confirmation number and will be over 21 years of age by July 8, 2008. Our snarky security owl will be checking IDs at the door and registrants who do not meet the age requirement will not be admitted.
Question: With whom is SnapeFest affiliated?
Answer: SnapeFest is officially sponsored by Snapecast LLC. Although SnapeFest takes place within temporal and geographic proximity to Portus 2008 SnapeFest is not organized by HP Education Fanon, Inc, or by Portus 2008.
II. Programming
Question: What kind of Formal Programming will SnapeFest feature?
Answer: Formal Programming will begin at 9 AM on July 9, 2008 and end at 5 PM on that day. Activities will include presentations, roundtable discussions, panels, trivia contests, competitions, displays of fan art and videos, costume fashion shows and much more. Because good Snape-ing requires plenty of fuel, lunch will be provided to SnapeFest attendees and coffee will be available throughout the day. A finalized schedule of formal programming will be available by May 1, 2008 on our Programming web page and updates will be posted regularly.
Question: What kind of Informal Programming will SnapeFest feature?
Answer: Informal Programming will commence at 5:01 PM on July 9, 2008 and will end at midnight that evening. The SnapeFest staff will be organizing a candlelight vigil for Professor Snape. Afterwards SnapeFest attendees are encouraged to continue their informal Snape-ing at a local restaurant. Details about the Informal Programming will be available on our Programming web page.
Question: Can I contribute Programming ideas for SnapeFest?
Answer: Although the Programming is completely controlled by Snapecast, we will be accepting ideas until February 9, 2008. If you have an idea, please send an email to snapefest@portus2008.org with the subject heading "SnapeFest Programming Idea." Because the Programming for SnapeFest is controlled entirely by Snapecast we can completely ignore your idea or develop it on our own. If you have a proposal that would be appropriate for presentation at Portus 2008, please submit it via the process outlined on their Programming site (http://hp2008.org/programming.htm).
III. Registration
Question: How can I register for SnapeFest?
Answer : You can register for SnapeFest on the SnapeFest registration web site. Registration will open on January 9, 2008 and is limited to 50 attendees. If you are not on the Depraved Lunatic Registration List, you cannot come to SnapeFest.
Question: How much does SnapeFest cost?
Answer: Simple. SnapeFest is entirely free. Even that simple minded Potter boy can grasp this concept.
Question: What if I register for SnapeFest after all the spaces are full?
Answer: If you happen to be one of the unfortunate souls who is too slow to snag a spot on the Depraved Lunatic Registration List, you will be added to the Dunderhead Waiting List. If spots become available, those on the Dunderhead Waiting List will be moved to the Depraved Lunatic Registration List on a first come first serve basis.
Question: What if I register for SnapeFest and cannot attend?
Answer: If you register for SnapeFest and later learn you cannot attend please notify us as soon as possible by sending an email to snapefest@portus2008.org. Please do not delay in doing this because if you can't make it out to Snape with us on July 9, SnapeFest would like to give your spot to a Dunderhead on the Waiting List. Unfortunately we cannot allow you to give away your spot on the Depraved Lunatic Registration List to a specific person.
B]Question:[/B] Exactly when on January 9 will the registration system be open?
