I think it'll be fine to talk about the book here. :)

I finally finished it yesterday afternoon. There were many teary points for me. I like how she left holes in the story where the fanfiction can still continue. Several things in this book, to me at least, felt rather like a fanficiton. I could have done without the epilouge.

All in all, it was a great book for what is was. I still feel like HBP and DH are of a completely different feel than the first five books.

oh yeah, dh and hbp are totally different, deathly hallows even more so. I guess i like it because, especially in dh, you see the characters mature so much, even some of the adult characters. The epilogue in a way, was dissappointing and at the same time satisfying, Albus Severus really got me sobbing. My weepiest moment was definetley chapter 33 the prince's tale, i was absolutely distraught. I couldn't breath for the crying : (

chapter 34 when he's walking in the woods with his parents and sisius and lupin- "will it hurt?" and that point I had to put down the book because I was crying so bad that i could no longer read through the tears

That was the sceen Jo said was the hardest to wright. I can see why. I cried more there than almost anywhere else in the book.

yeah i know what you mean...it was chapter 33 that got me started MAJOR crying, i was sobbing so much and it just escalated from there *sniff*

i love how JK doesn't have to do all the ridiculously fancy imagery and stuff to be a fantastic writer...the creativity of the whole series is astounding

I cried most at "The Prince's Tale".

I'm not a really intense Snape fangirl, but that chapter was just so touching and beautiful. I know that his love was controlling and possessive, but his story is just so sad I can't help but love Snape!

 I cheated by taking the CD's to work with me. It took 3 days to finish but I think that they were the best spent 3 days at work that I had in a long time. MAY` THE WAND BE WITH YOU!

It took me 5 days to read, but I was really taking my time with it. I didn't want it to end!

I read it in 18hours, and 10 of those I slept. I wanted to read it consecutivly right after I got it, but the midnight party left me exhausted.

I read it in 24 hours, 18 hours minus sleep.

I could have read it waaaay faster but my dad is incredibly slow and we wanted to kind of keep pace so I wouldn't spontaneously combust if I had no one to talk to when I got to really exciting parts.

But I'm okay with taking my time. While the eyes-blurring, head-aching, pages-flipping-faster-than-the-speed-of-light way is fun (and trust me, i've done it!), i didn't want to miss parts of the last book.

I was intending to soak it in, but what I ended up doing was reading 100 pages at a slightly slower rate, then sitting and theorizing for a bit and waiting for my dad to be done and then talking it over. Which was cool because I got to think about it more than I would of done otherwise (which is how I guess that the doe Patronus was Snapes)

this is a long post for such a simple thing...

DH was definitely my favorite book...it showed Jo's strength as a writer and her strength as a story teller...

I loved all the backstory we got on Dumbledore...and how she gave it to us...so creative...

I loved how she pulled it all together...and how we were able follow the trio...even when they were going around in circles...

And the deaths...oh the deaths...were they hard or what?? Only an AWESOME writer can get you to feel the pain of her characters so sharply...

;)
