Name: Beth
*Also known as: Irielle, Iri
*Age/Gender: female, 41
*Birthplace/Livingplace: born near Fantasyland, currently living near Minneapolis/St. Paul
*Family Life: mom to 5 year old Will, currently going through a marital breakdown/breakup, depressing, but at least we're still friends
*Personality: shy bookworm, but prone to make humorous remarks among friends
*Words (or small phrases) friends have used to describe you: sweet, shy, funny, and not as innocent as I look
*Words (or small phrases) you have used to describe you: geeky, romantic
*Anything else you'd like to reveal?: I'm nervous I'll be the oldest person at Portus
*Education/Work: (note - do NOT disclose name of school or job) I'm a full-time mom until Will starts to attend kindergarten in the fall
*Favourite HP book: the Half Blood Prince, but I love the Prisoner of Azkaban too
*Favourite HP character(s) - Canon and Fanon: Snape, Lupin, Neville and Tonks
*Favourite HP line: Snape's introduction to Potions class
*Watching/Avoiding the HP movies? I can't help but watch them, but only 3 & 4 stand out to me. The other movies have a few moments I really like though (like Snape's intro speech to the Potions class and seeing the kids when they were so young in the first movie)
*How about HP merchandise? I am the proud owner of the first Lego Hogwarts castle (purchased for 75 percent off at Target years ago), and my very own glow in the dark Lego Snape! He's watching me right now as I type this.
*Current reading: The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen, Daugher of Heaven and The Flawless Skin of Ugly People (Yes, I really do have three books going at a time: one for bedtime, one on the main floor, and one to toss in a bag for when I'm out. I bet I'm not the only one who does that.)

*Favourite music: Moxy Fruvous, Gaelic Storm, Indigo Girls, The Whomping Willows
*Favourite TV: Dancing with the Stars (did someone say geeky? I still want someone to do the Masochism Tango on that program)
*Favourite cinema: Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, The Princess Bride

*Favourite fandom websites: the Leaky Cauldron

*Favorite non fandom website: Livejournal
*Philosophy for an easy life? Measure twice, cut once

That's really cool that you like Gaelic Storm. I've never met or "met" anyone other than my sister who has even heard of them!

Hi, nice to meet you. I think that you and I have a lot in common as I am a huge Jane Austen fan myself and no, it's not geeky to like Dancing with the Stars. Definitely one of my favourite reality shows ever (after Amazing Race). Which Persuasion movie is your favourite?

It's good to see another Jane Austen fan on here. Sadly, the new JA series hasn't made it to the U.S. yet, so I was thinking of the older Persuasion film with Ciaran Hinds.

Actually, I love the older version with Ciaran Hinds. I taped it once off TV and watch it every now and then. Very romantic!

Hello, nice to meet you! I'm sorry to hear about your breakup. You know, as silly as it might sound, when I went through my first break-up with my longtime boyfriend, reading the Harry Potter books was one of the few things that made me feel better and made me happy again. I guess I truly am a Harry Potter dork! And by the way, I love the name of your son. Will is my favorite male name. I bet he's adorable.
