I did a class for educators at Lumos in Las Vegas on Hands on Activities and Teaching with Harry Potter. It ended up being full and we had to turn people away. I haven't done it since, but I have some new stuff that includes book 6 & 7.

We covered everything from how to get this book approved by your school officials to starting the units and time management for such a large series. We also discussed activities and made a take-home project I use with Sorcerer's Stone. We did a lot more fun stuff too!

It takes me a while to get it all together, so I am wondering if anyone wants me to do it again. If you were at the last one, we had a great time & I'll me more than happy to do it.

Also, if you have something specific you want me to cover, let me know.

This sounds great, I would definitely be interested in seeing this and I hope you do it. At the time of Infinitus I will have just graduated college with my teaching certification in Secondary English, so I would definitely want to hear all about incorporating Harry Potter into teaching.

Sounds like fun. My old college had an HP themed class. Unfortunately it was full. I'd love to take part in something related to it.

This sounds wonderful! I would definitely be interested in attending this! I am currently earning a bachelor's degree in history and plan to become certified to teach history / English, and possibly learning about lesson plans around this theme would be amazing!

If anyone subscribes or has access to NCTE's English Journal, there were two articles about using Harry Potter in the classroom in the July 2009 issue. I'm using one of them for my education class. Just thought some of you in this thread might like to know!

This sounds fantastic. I'm still in high-school, but plan on majoring in Elementary Special Needs Education in college, and DEFINITELY plan on making HP a prominent part of my classroom.

Well I like all of your idea to teaching of it in the classroom. Someone saying its like fun. But I assume that its not like a fun but it may be really very nice job.
