Default Traveling in Orlando to the host hotel

Hey everyone,

I'm staying off-site and I am looking for the best way to travel to the host hotel. Originally we were going to travel with a girl who was driving up and so we would have had a car, but now I've just found out that she cannot come due to family issues. Totally understandable, but it puts us in a bit of a tight spot.

I'm curious if you know of probably the best taxi service. We are traveling from the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Canada Avenue, so it's only 2 miles to the host hotel. Any idea about how much that will cost? There are three of us right now that would be taking the taxi.

Or, if anyone is in the area and is driving up, and would like to pick us up on the way (and can fit three more people in their car), we would be willing to split the parking costs at the Royal Pacific.

Let me know any information that might be helpful! I am stressing out over so much stuff with this con :/

you might want to check a few things that may help. If the hotel your staying at has free shuttle to universal and the earliest/last shuttle avail. Also Orlando has a good bus system and you may be able to get back and forth that way cheaper. Also check the hotel on the best taxi service to use and what they think it would cost. Hope that helps.

I'm also staying at an offsite hotel, but our hotel has a shuttle that goes to Universal. Does anyone know the frequency of the water taxis to the conference hotel?

Mears Transportation runs one of the more reliable cab services in Orlando. If you go to their website, they have a fare estimator. Sometimes it gave me issues when I used to use it at work - if it doesn't work for you when you put in your address, call Mears and ask them directly. Lynx will definitely be cheaper, but make sure you keep an eye on the time - some routes stop running as early as 11pm.

Water taxis come fairly frequently. I think it's about every 10-15 minutes. They're not really on a set schedule though. Basically, they get to the hotel, get everyone off, load everyone on, wait a second for any stragglers, then head on to CityWalk, get everyone off, load everyone on, wait for any stragglers, then head back and repeat. The boat lets you off very close to the convention center also, so that's a plus.
